"Left hand side of stone: Giles Hawker, yeoman, late of this parish departed this life 6 March 1819 in the 77th year of his life A loving husband a Father dear, A Faithful Friend lies buried here, My time is spent my glass is run, Dear Wife and Children prpare to come. Likewise Mary, wife of the above named Giles Hawker who departed this life May the 1st 1828 in the 64th year of her life. Right hand side of stone: Thomas Hawker, yeoman late of Castle Martin, son of Giles and Mary Hawker who departed this life April 30th 1820 aged 29 years. I leave this world without a tear, Save for my friends I loved so dear, To heal their sorrows Lord descend, And to my friendless prove a friend." Giles, wife Mary and son Thomas on same stone.

There is no firm evidence that this couple, found from the Will of Giles, is the same as the couple mentioned in Boyds Marriage Index as: 1786 Giles Hawker and Mary Filips. Chaceley. and also in the Utah Index for Worcester with marriage dated 8/10/1786 However, the date, place and names fit so I have assumed they are the same pending evidence to the contrary.
