Katey Rock was probably adopted. Information provided by Eric Rock suggests that Katey Rock was probably the daughter of Joseph Sadler and Elizabeth Roberts. They were publicans at the White Hart public House at 56 Caldmore Wlasall in 1871. Elizabeth committed suicide at the White Hart on 1 September 1874 and Joseph died at the White Hart on 7 April 1875.
I am told that in the Walsall 1891 census at Little London appear:
Joseph (Head) 57 Filer Born Walsall
Ann (Wife) 56 born Walsall
Catherine (daughter) 18 Warehouse person born Birmingham
Edmund BOOTH 1 Nurse child born Walsall
I have not yet checked this information
The British Vital Records Index Second Edition from the Church of Latter Day Saints (BVRI2) shows a Samuel Lockley born in Gnosall to William Lockley and Sarah, and the marriage earlier of:
William Lockley and Sarah Bratton on 14 February 1804I have assumed this is the Samuel Lockley I need for the following reasons:
1. Sarah Lockley was born in Bromstead Heath (Gnosall)
2. The name Sarah would be logical, the name of the father's mother.Also shown in BVRI2 are:
