Email received from Bernice McGowan by Graham George Hawker on 27 January 2003 stated:
"Hello from Canada- I was amazed to find your website, since I seem to fit into it. William Halsall and Mary Pinnington were the grandparents of my grandmother Elizabeth Halsall, who grew up at Hill House Farm in Ainsdale, Lancashire. She was the daughter of William and Mary's son John. From my understanding, William and John are the only of their children (others were Henry, Ann, Robert and James) to have children. If you would like to have information on this part of the family, please email me. My mother (Elizabeth's daughter ) and I are working on our family history."

The information for his branch of the family, as at the end of January 2003, is all from Bernice McGowan who wrote in an email to Graham George Hawker on 27 January 2003:
"Hello-we have just started using Family Tree Maker to enter information and I haven't
figured out yet how to make the information into a form that fits the "official files" that
everyone else uses, so I will start by just listing the 13 children of John Halsall,
brother of the William you have . I don't think I have the order right, but my Mum can
corrrect me later. John married Elizabeth Ormesher, daughter of Robert Ormesher
and Ellen Melling.
Elizabeth (1857-1915)- m. Wilfrid Turner of Blackburn. They emigrated to
Canada and settled in Victoria, BC. They had 3 children, Wilfrid, Elizabeth and
Margaret (my mother, who still lives in Victoria)
Mary- m. Alfred Henry and they also settled on Vancouver Island BC, 5 children-
Jack, Lillian, Jane, Nancy and Alfred
John- m. Elizabeth and had 6 children- Harold, Robert, Percy, Vincent, John and
Dolly
Anne- m. Harold Corry and lived in the US, last known in New Jersey
Winnifred-m. John Newsham, 3 daughters, Winnifred, Dorothea and Joan
Robert-m. Lily, with 2 sons, Leo and Alan

names since it helps sort everyone out! I do have more information about the next
generations if you are interested and may have some questions or things to add to
the ancestor portion when I have gone through the information better. I could send
you the dexcendant list by snail mail if you like. One thing I did notice in quickly
looking at your infomation (I found it at about 11pm and havent really looked at it
carefully).) was that we have the birthdate of James (husb of Margaret Fairclough)
as October 2, 1788 and I think you have him born in 1791? "
