In an email from Marsha Bowman to Graham Hawker dated 6 August 2005 she states:
I found some pictures of Stu and his family. I am sending the first two pictures, two
more will follow.
The picture titled Stu is the man standing was taken in the back yard of his wife's
parent home in Des Plaines, IL. in 1951. The others besides him from left to right
are: Fran Osgood, family friend, (now deceased),Stu,Carl Witt, my father (dec
eased), Sally Witt, my mother, Ken Witt, my brother (deceased), and me.
The picture titled Shakespeare Family only shows Stu's three daughters. His son
was born much later. The girls from the back row are: Beth, Jill, Susie is between
her parents, Stu and Mary Louise.
One of Stu's daughters died several years ago, I believe it was Jill. I will check with
Mary Louise to be sure. She died the day she returned to work after giving birth to her
second child. She was a nurse. She had a massive heart attach at the hospital and
they couldn't save her.In a further email dated 24 August 2005 Marsha Bowman wrote to Graham Hawker:
Haden's second marriage was to: Mary Frances Schwirtz born 10/6/1912 in River
Forest, Illinois. She died on 10/6/1990 at the age of 78. There were three children
born of this marriage: Carol Shakespeare (Major), Shirley Shakespeare (
Maimberg), and Richard Shakespeare, who married Sharon Unknown
Shakespeare.
Stuart Donald Shakespeare married Mary Louise Vavrnik on 6/1/1952. Mary
Louise was born on 9/24/1932. Their children are: Beth Louise Shakespeare born
5/3/1954 in Elmhurst, IL. She married Kit Miner. They have two children: Justin
Miner, 27; and Shannon Miner. Beth divorced Kit Miner and married Bob
Armstrong. They have two children, Ashley,22, who married Nuno Gomes, and
Quinn who is in his second year of college, so is about 19.
Jill Ann Shakespeare born 6/29/1956 in Elmhurst,IL. She married Robert Hicklin
and they had five children. Matthew Robert 24, Lisa 23,married to Dan Hoffman,
Jennifer 20, Megan 18, and Adam 12. Jill died on 8/9/1993.
Susie Shakespeare born 6/18/1959. She married Jeffrey Lerner. They have one
child, Courtney 20. Susie divorced Jeff and married Marc Lenzen. They had one
child, Christian 12. They adopted one child, Kelly 9. Susie divorced Marc, and
married Ken Potter on 5/1/2005.
Mary Louise didn't say anything about their son, Lee, so I still don't know about
him.
In an email in August 2005 from Mary Looise Shakesèare to Marsha Bowman, she states:
As for Haden's info re: brothers, sister - that is all correct. One of Stu's cousins lives
in California and he has come here to visit. His name is Jon Shakespeare. When
Stu's mother died both Aunt Lil and Uncle Walt Pflughaupt - Eugene's parents plus
Uncle Don and Aunt Alta wanted to adopt Stu because Haden was a baker and
worked all night - slept in the daytime. But he had already lost his wife Phoebe
through childbirth and didn't want to give up his son also. Both families had a son
close to Stu's age - Eugene Pflughaupt and Jon Shakespeare. Uncle Walt was the
brother to Phoebe Pflughaupt Shakespeare. Don Shakespeare was the brother to
Haden.
The brother Donovan (we always called him Donald) In fact Stu's middle name is
Donald after his uncle - anyway he and Alta had 2 children - Jon and Ellyn.
Email from Nick Shelley to Graham Hawker on 13 Oct 2007:
Charlotte Read who was baptised at Wednesbury on 6th Dec 1846 was my
great-grandaunt and was the daughter of David Read and Elizabeth
Griffiths. I did not realise until I saw your family website that
Charlotte had married. I see that their grandson (who would be my
second cousin) John Benjamin Heywood/Haywood married Celia Ann Hawker so
it makes me wonder whether we are related?
I was interested in Benjamin's marriage to Margaret Pamela Naomi
Styles and wondered whether there was any connection between Margaret
and Moses Styles. I now see that there was. Moses married Pamela
Rogers in her first marriage. As you have recorded, she married twice
more, the last one to David Read who was Charlotte's brother.
