The Pakistan Ministry of Tourism claim From the mighty stretches of the Karakorams in the North to the vast alluvial delta of the Indus River in the South, Pakistan remains a land of high adventure and nature. Trekking, mountaineering, white water rafting, wild boar hunting, mountain and desert jeep safaris, camel and yak safaris, trout fishing and bird watching, are a few activities, which entice the adventure and nature lovers to Pakistan. Well they would say that wouldn't they? However, they are amply justified in their description. A fascinating and beautiful country, well worth visiting and well described on this official web site.
Where better to start than the excellent website from the Ministry of Tourism which you can find at:

The real name of this site is "The Most Comprehensive Reference on the Political History of Pakistan" and it lives up to its name. Well presented and beautifully designed, here is the place to find out all there is to know about the history of this fascinating country. Starting at 50,000BC and illustrated with excellent photos, thsi site is well worth visiting. I am no great history fan but I spent a very enjoyable time browsing this excellent web.
I never cease to be amazed by how much I didn't know that I didn't know! Find out more fascinating stories and learn more about Pakistan at:
Isn't it marvellous how we have managed to invent so many ways of talking to each other? Especially when much of the time it seems to me that no-one listens to anyone. Pakistan has an amazing 72 living languages and you can read all about them on the excellent Ethnologue page. You will also find there that there are 7,398,329 deaf people in Pakistan. Deaf in the sense that they can't hear. Those of us fortunate enough to be able to hear should try to use our good fortune rather more than we sometimes do!
Interesting to see just how languages have developed and how it divides communities. However, it also enriches. Even in the major European languages it is sometimes much easier to convey an idea in one language rather than another. Well worth reading:
Information about Pakistan from the perspective of an American woman with Pakistani ethnic background. Nicely presented with some ineteresting sections, including one on Women's Issues and Resources and another on Spirituality. A different perspective on some different topics, but all to help you understand better this fascinating country.
Regrettably several of the links no longer work, so I will never know the answer to "If you're wondering why a link to info about Yasmeen (a Canadian supermadel) is included on this page". Nevertheless, worth a visit:
